This 1940s style brooch was inspired by the make do and mend jewellery of 1940s wartime Britain and is made to the specifications of an original wartime pattern. During WW2, clothes rationing significantly limited the availability of new garments. As a result, women began to realise the importance of making their existing clothes last longer. With shrinking wardrobes, accessories took on greater significance in providing variety and style with a limited amount of clothing.
