Mexican Diamonds by Janie Crow Janie says “I really love traditional Mexican textiles and often look at woven fabrics, embroidery and crewel work for design inspiration. This design was also inspired by the repeated, jagged edged, diamonds found on woven rugs. I have created a flower motif to sit at the centre of this design to echo floral embroidery; I think the use of surface crochet slip stitches around the outside of the leaves enhances the idea of hand stitching.
